PRA Cares Milan to Venice 2019

PRAHS Against MS

About 30 years ago my mum was diagnosed with MS. At a similar time, a family friend was too. The friend was wheelchair-bound within a year whilst mum's MS was much slower to progress. Over 3 decades, the disease has taken more and more of a toll to the point where everyday tasks have become so difficult that eventually a change of home was needed. Mum still stays strong and is an amazing inspiration to us all but it's terribly sad to see a once keen guitarist's fingers struggle to hold a fork, or someone who used to walk everywhere, unable to walk more than a few metres at a time. We need to do something to stop this horrible, debilitating disease.

I once cycled up an Alp (Col du Galibier) to raise money for MS charities and thinking of the daily struggles faced by mum and those friends I know with MS really helped me get up the steeper bits of the climb. This year, the thought of them will help me get through the 300+km and up and down the hills of northern Italy. Maybe you could spur me on with a donation to the cause too?!

PRA Cares is not about a single program or charity. It’s about helping people wherever and whenever we can and this year we plan to fight for a world without the disease Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

This year, we are supporting the MS International Federation and together we all stand Against MS!

The MS International Federation is the world’s only global movement of people affected by MS and their national organisations. Our movement is a leader for ground-breaking research collaborations.  Now with PRA Cares you are able to fund the research that takes across our movement.

Thank you for your donation!
