How do I fundraise?
Simply click here to decide how you want to fundraise, and then sign up to get started. At the end of your registration, your fundraising page will be set up!
How do I send money?
Donations made via your fundraising page will be automatically sent to MSIF. If you have collected cash/cheques – Firstly, count the cash and deposit it into your bank account. We advise you don’t send cash in the post. Instead, you can send the donations to us in one of the following ways:
- Donate via our website (www.msif.org) and give as much detail as possible as to the reason for your donation, how you raised the money and what the collection was for (e.g. an event held in memory of a loved one).
- Contact the Fundraising Team on +44 (0) 20 7620 1911 and we can help you make a transfer or send a cheque.
- Add it to your fundraising page under 'Offline Donations'. You will be asked to pay the sum you are donating.
Do I get a receipt for my donation?
Yes, you will be emailed a receipt for your donation, whether you make it when you are setting up your event, or you donate to someone's personal fundraising page.
How to publicise your event
The more people who know about your event the better! By telling people about the amazing thing you are doing for us. There are lots of ways to promote your fundraising events online using social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
Why not put together a home video and post it on Youtube? It can be emotive, entertaining and can be of anything from a personal message to a diary of your planning. Posting snippets of video to Twitter and Facebook can be a fun way of keeping people up to date with your fundraising event! Posters may seem a bit old fashioned when everything appears to be online, but they do get noticed! Put up posters in your local area and ask everyone from cafes owners to libraries and post offices.

What happens when I reach my fundraising goal?
First things first. Celebrate! Your fundraising page will still continue and you can continue to raise funds. You can adjust your fundraising goal or extend the fundraising period.
Can I organise a collection?
Collections are a great way to support us and raise much needed funds, as well as getting out and meeting new people. There are different types of collections and you need to ensure that you are keeping it all legal so please contact the events team for further advice.
